Genesee man behind bars on Attempted Murder

A Genesee man is behind bars on attempted homicide charges. According to the State Police, 21 year old John Thomas Polen IV was in the middle of a verbal dispute with 91 year old Turner Polen near a residence on Corcoran Road when the younger man fired a single shot, striking the victim. The elder Polen was transported to Jones Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. John Thomas Polen was charged with one count of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of recklessly endangering another person. He is being held in Potter County Jail without bail.
